Random Thought Tuesday

In my attempts to blog, I have decided to start Random Thought Tuesday. RTT is a mind-dump of random thoughts going through my head right now…

• This is my third blog post of 2012. Not that this is a major accomplishment for others, but I’m on a roll.. #GetOnMyLevel
• I really need a haircut like pronto. I attempted to get a haircut this morning but of course my barber was not open at the time he was scheduled to open as usual. This is beginning to become a routine with his inconsistent hours, and such. But I’m starting to think that maybe I shouldn’t have left the note I left on the door out of frustration. I’m sure you’re wondering what the note said… and I quote.. “You need to get your stuff together, and work your set hours. This is getting ridiculous. Signed your customers”. Don’t judge me, I was frustrated.    
• One of the main reasons I need a haircut is because we are heading out this weekend with the staff of CrossRoads for our first staff retreat. I have mixed emotions about the weekend. I’m excited, and eager to plan the next year, and have some direction as to where the church is heading. I’m curious how this is going to work out after spending 2.5 days together as a staff without distraction, and away from civilization… I will keep you posted.
• My lovely wife and I stood up late last night in preparation for the retreat looking over all that we have planned for 2012 in Oxygen. You should have seen this list. It’s kind of overwhelming all the things we have going on, and want to get started. I’m not going to lie, it very hard to do everything we want and should be doing in ministry full-time, while also working full-time at my other job. I pray that soon the Lord will allow us to do what we love to do full-time.
• Speaking of my wife, please keep her in your prayers. She is about 17 weeks pregnant, and this has been a rough one. Praise God that our baby is healthy, but my poor wife has had migraines, and been throwing up for weeks. I just want her to feel better. Things just don’t run as smooth when mom is down.
• On a great note, we find out what we are having on February 15. I think we are finally adjusting to the fact that we are having a baby… but realized we haven’t bought one single thing to get ready…#Yikes
• I’m sitting here, and really craving sushi. I don’t know why, I just am. Anyone want to go eat it with me? Hit me up.
• I’m also trying to figure out what to plan for my sweetie for Valentine’s Day.
• They have been having several meetings for the first Blush Retreat. I was asked to speak at the closing session. I’m a bit nervous, but honored that they asked me. It’s going to be a life changing weekend. If you have not registered make sure you do fast! They are almost out of beds. #Fact
• I’m loving this weather! 63 degrees on January 31. I won’t be sad if we get no snow at all this winter.  
• I’m joining the Biggest Loser Competition at church. Last year I lost over 20 pounds, and have since put back on 12 pounds of it. I really want to make a life style change in 2012. Plus I want to win the prize money. LOL. I can do this!  
• Awaken Camp dates are set in stone for June 22-24 @ Gods Mountain. Be looking out for more info soon.. We are shaving off a day this year, so I’m trying to figure out how I’m going to plan all the things we love to do at Camp in just 48hrs. It will all work out.
• I rented the movie “Reel Steele” this weekend, and I must admit it was an awesome movie! I highly recommend it. I also rented “Rookie of the Year”, and still laughed as hard as I did years ago. That movie never gets old. #FunkyButtLovin

I am a rich man!

Recently, I have come to the realization that I am a very rich man. I don’t have a big house, or drive a fancy car, and I sure done have a lot of money. Still, I am a very rich man. In fact, there are times when I feel like the richest man in the world. Let me just name a few.

• When I look at my god fearing, loving, faithful, and beautiful wife Candace, I know that I am a rich man.
• When I come home, and my two children rush to give me a hug, or a kiss, I know that I am a rich man.
• When my kids call me their hero, I know that I’m a rich man.
• When I heard the strong heartbeat of our new baby, I know that I am a rich man.  
• When I get to snuggle with my wife, on the couch, or in bed, I know that I am a rich man.
• When I think back to where I came from, and what God has brought me from, I know that I am a rich man.
• When I see my children, natural, and spiritual serving the Lord, I know that I am a rich man.  
• When I hang out the students of Oxygen Youth, and see the growth in their lives, I know that I am a rich man.
• When I hear testimonies of how the Lord used me to make a difference in someone’s life, I know that I am a rich man.
• When I host a camp, or conference, and get to see the lives of those students being changed, I know that I am a rich man.
• When I get to go to my church, and worship so freely with some of the best folks in KC, I know that I am a rich man.
• When I am able to serve my friends, and be there for them, I know that I am a rich man.
• When I write these words and know that they may help someone out there realize how rich they are, I know that I am a rich man.

Remember then just how rich you are in this life. Money can’t buy all things. The Lord has truly blessed me! I am a rich man indeed!

Hello world!

Okay so I originally opened this wordpress in 2010, and as you van see, I didnt get very far.. LOL. But now we are in the year 2012,  and I’m going to be trying new things. One of them things is to pick up blogging.. Im not sure that i’m all that interesting, but my good friend Kayla seems to think I should be doing this, so I am going to attempt to blog once more.

Just a fair warning this may be a very random blog about life, family, ministry, and nothing at all. If everyone really knew what was going on in my head, you would see that I can be a very random person.

Anyways here’s to new things.
